VibeIQ Raises $22.5 Million In Funding Led By Volition Capital

VibeIQ secured $22.5 million in growth funding led by Volition Capital, with participation from Venture Guides, to advance its AI native product decision platform for apparel, footwear, and consumer goods brands.

VibeIQ raised $22.5 million in growth financing. The round was led by Boston-based growth equity firm Volition Capital, with participation from existing investor Venture Guides. This brings the company’s known total funding to approximately $28.8 million, following a $6.3 million round from Venture Guides in June 2024 (around the time Brian Lindauer was appointed CEO).

What is VibeIQ?

VibeIQ positions itself as the first AI native product decision platform for apparel, footwear, consumer goods brands, and private label retailers. It addresses a specific gap in the product lifecycle: the critical decisions that occur before formal product development and sourcing begin.

Most brands maintain systems for design, financial planning, product development (often PLM), and selling. However, choices about which products belong in a line, why they advance, creative to commercial trade-offs, margins, regional needs, and related context typically occur across disconnected spreadsheets, decks, and workflows. Once products enter development, that decision rationale is frequently lost. As generative AI accelerates concept and asset creation, the volume of options increases without a corresponding improvement in the ability to decide what should move forward.

VibeIQ provides merchandising, design, planning, product development, and regional teams with a single live view of the product line. It connects creative intent with commercial targets, margin, regional adoption, and downstream status. Embedded AI surfaces gaps, duplication, trade-offs, and margin risk so teams can advance, modify, or cut products before significant cost and complexity are locked in. The platform is designed to sit alongside (not replace) existing PLM, planning, and enterprise systems, carrying approved decisions and their context into execution.

Core platform elements highlighted include visual line planning and assortment building, creative collaboration tools (boards, concept generation, recoloring/restyling), product definition/spec automation, AI agents, a product data platform as the system of record, event/workflow engines, and integrations (including App Store connectors for PLM/ERP/DAM and MCP support).

Who are VibeIQ’s leaders?

Brian Lindauer is founder and CEO. He previously served as lead architect for PTC’s FlexPLM (widely adopted in fashion and retail PLM) and held technology leadership roles including CTO at influencer marketing platform Mavrck. His experience identified that key assortment decisions were occurring outside formal systems, which informed VibeIQ’s founding (around 2019–2020). The company reports a team of 50+ members.

Named customers include New Balance, Vera Bradley, Converse, and Kizik (with earlier references also including Spanx). Customers have reported reduced planned SKUs, visibility into product decisions months earlier, and elimination of thousands of hours of manual work. One case example cited savings of 4 weeks per season (16 weeks per year) across critical path milestones.

The capital will fund continued product investment and innovation, expanded AI capabilities, deeper integrations with PLM and enterprise systems, team growth, and go to market expansion across apparel, footwear, consumer goods, and private label retail. The goal is to deepen decision context capabilities and extend them to additional product categories and teams.

Volition Capital (founded 2010, >$1.7 billion AUM) focuses on high growth, founder owned software, internet, and consumer companies. Managing Partner Roger Hurwitz described VibeIQ as a “category defining platform” that provides a shared decision layer before major cost and complexity enter the process, praising the team’s domain expertise and execution.

Venture Guides (early stage focus on infrastructure software, cybersecurity, data, and AI) is a returning investor. Managing Partner Ben Nye highlighted confidence in the team and market opportunity, noting that VibeIQ helps customers make better product decisions while avoiding unnecessary cost, complexity, and delay.

The financing arrives as generative AI tools make concept and asset creation faster and cheaper, amplifying the need for structured decision making upstream of development. VibeIQ’s thesis is that speed alone does not produce better product lines; brands require shared creative and commercial context to decide what should exist, change, or be cut, and to preserve that rationale through the lifecycle. By focusing on the pre development decision layer and integrating with existing systems, the company aims to reduce SKU proliferation, improve margins and sell through, accelerate time to market, and lower operational costs for consumer brands facing assortment complexity.
